I would be very interested in checking out your full-paper. I addressed this issue in an earlier online conference originating at the University of Hawaii: http://members.tripod.com/vstevens/papyrus/00apr09b.htm Like all virtual mediums or physical spaces ... we must carve out our own individual/group place(s) ... in a hierarchical, material and conceptual sense. The production of knowledge (collaborative and dialogical) on the Internet is still an ongoing process, while avoiding the more pronounced paranoia of doomsayers or dimissers, we must still recognize that the market system desires a one-way system in which pre-viewed and already-digested bits of info is spoon-fed to consumers. Where do I stand on the potential of the Internet? Well I'm in Lexington, KY, USA trying to collaboratively make sense of the world with intellectuals around the world, participating in an online conference physically originating in South Africa...
